IFYE Orientation/Welcome Program

June 18-20, 2005
Judson College, Elgin, Illinois, U.S.A.

Objectives:
IFYE's: Attending the United States orientation will:

  • Begin their cross-cultural experience and become acquainted with new young people from other countries
  • Reinforce their understanding and commitment to IFYE Program objectives, expectations and procedures.
  • Clarify their own personal goals for their exchange experience and share them with other participants and program leaders.
  • Enhance their awareness and acceptance of cultural differences as well as hone their skills for living in another culture.
  • Prepare for safe international travel and carrying out sharing experiences when they return home.
  • Experience some local culture, sights and sounds in the Chicago Area.
